Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has forced Ukrainians to leave their country to save their lives. Most countries are helping Ukrainians, and Canada has also opened its doors to Ukrainians fleeing war.
Honorable Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced two new pathways for Ukrainians. An unlimited number of Ukrainians will be allowed to enter Canada to live, work or study for up to two years. Additionally, the government has waived most of the visa requirements and application processing fees. But the applicants must provide their biometrics and undergo a background process.
Also, Canada will issue open work permits to Ukrainian visitors, workers, and students who are currently in Canada and cannot return to Ukraine. The application fee will be waived as well.
